MHI establishes new oil & gas division in the US

xxonMobil subsidiary Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Ltd (EEPGL) has awarded contracts to SBM Offshore for a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, a key step in moving the Liza field toward first production. Under the contracts, SBM Offshore will perform front end engineering and design for the FPSO, and, subject to a final investment decision on the project in 2017, will construct, install and operate the vessel. The Liza field has a potential recoverable resource estimate in excess of 1 billion oil-equivalent barrels and is located in the Stabroek block approximately 193 km offshore Guyana.
SNC-Lavalin wins 5-yr extension to Saudi Aramco contract

NC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering (SLFE), an engineering consultancy partnership between SNC-Lavalin and Dr Zuhair Fayez, has been awarded a five-year extension to its existing general engineering services plus (GES+) contract with Saudi Aramco, with three one-year options to extend. Under the contract, SNC-Lavalin will be invited to bid on front-end engineering, detailed engineering and project management services to support the

itsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI) has set up a specialized oil & gas division within Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America Inc (MHIA), its Houston-based US subsidiary, to provide one stop solutions to the upstream, LNG and downstream markets. “Many of MHI’s leading technologies trace their origins back to the US,” said MHI president and CEO Shunichi Miyanaga. “We are pleased to be able to offer the technologies we have honed in Japan to customers in the US from a local base.” MHI’s oil & gas division has opened a dedicated office in downtown Houston. The division will focus on identifying, developing and leading business opportunities for turbomachinery and engineered solutions including growth areas such as floating production, LNG, plant modularization, CO2 EOR, gas processing and petrochemicals.
Halliburton signs Shell drilling contract

alliburton has entered into a contract with Shell Iraq Petroleum Development to provide drilling services for sustained production at Shell’s Majnoon Oil Field in Southern Iraq. Under the contract Halliburton will mobilize three rigs to drill development wells and carry out work over activities over the next two years.

Bechtel to build power plant in New York State
C
ricket Valley Energy Center LLC has selected Bechtel to design and build a new, natural-gas fired power plant in Dover, New York, USA. The Cricket Valley Energy Center, a 1100 MW combined-cycle plant to be completed in 2020, will have a low-impact design and will use advanced emissions-control technology. Bechtel is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the generating facility, which will use General Electric power generation equipment. Bechtel’s financing and development arm, Bechtel Enterprises, partnered with Cricket Valley Energy Center to complete the development of the project.

GE to provide membranes for Chinese wastewater treatment plant

E’s Water & Process Technologies business is to supply its advanced wastewater treatment equipment for an upgrade of the Luo Fang Wastewater Treatment Plant in Shenzhen City, Guang Dong province, China. Using GE’s ZeeWeed 500D membranes, the plant will increase its capacity by 150 million litres per day to process 400 million litres of wastewater per day, making it the largest membrane bioreactor (MBR) plant in China. GE’s Water & Process Technologies business will supply 408 membrane cassettes with 48 ZeeWeed 500D membrane modules, the control system of the MBR, including programmable logic controller panels with instruments, and InSight Asset Performance Management platform. Water & Process Technologies will also provide engineering design, project management, commissioning and startup of the MBR system to the wastewater treatment plant.
