Dry vacuum pump for harsh conditions at Powtech 2011 were able to see a demonstration of the new pump and learn how to optimise their vacuum processes with minimal cost of ownership.
Edwards’ CXS pump is designed to operate in the harsh and demanding world of semiconductor vacuum.
Edwards has launched its new CXS dry pump range, which is designed to operate in harsh chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical processes. At the Powertech exhibition in Nuremburg in October, visitors to the Edwards stand
CXS pumps with their tapered screw technology give vacuum down to 10-3 mbar and can operate in a variety of applications such as distillation, drying, evaporation, reactor service, house vacuum, solvent recovery, crystallization and filtration. They can pump up to one litre of liquid per minute continuously and up to 25 litre slugs without stopping. The pumps are independently certified for use in hazardous environments to ensure safe pumping of flammable gases. They also pump corrosive gases without corroding. There are two different models in the range initially, the CXS160 and CXS250, which give nominal capacities of 160 m3h-1 and 250 m3h-1. www.edwardsvacuum.com.
New exhibitor at Aquatech 2011 Tsurumi will participate at the Aquatech exhibition for the first time. The company will showcase its wastewater solutions through live demonstrations and full scale exhibits at the international water industry event from 1-4 November in Amsterdam. The company will exhibit a selection of pumps. These will include aerators, sewage and contractor pumps, and residual dewatering pumps. Full scale and cross-section models of the products will be displayed alongside
live demonstrations. These will include: an operational basin showing the company’s TRN aerators; ‘Puddle suckers’ - displayed inside an oil drum, these residual dewatering pumps are capable of reducing large expanses of water down to just 1 mm; a display of the company’s patented oil lifter, a device positioned within the oil bath of almost every pump to reduce day-to-day wear on the doublemechanical seal. www.tsurumi.eu
Midwest branch openings In a bid to position itself nearer to its customers, Godwin Pumps has opened new locations in the Midwest – Indianapolis, Evansville, and Cincinnati – for both Godwin and Flygt offerings. The branches will be equipped with Godwin’s range of surface-mounted diesel Dri-Prime pumps, as well as Flygt’s electric submersible pumps for construction and mine dewatering using the Flygt B, 2000, 2600, 2700 stainless steel and the 5100 abrasive-resistant series.
Godwin president, Michel Bakhos said: “The opportunity to combine Godwin and Flygt forces at existing locations allows us to get to market faster, through pre-existing channels for both brands. Product offerings obviously complement each other, and we are eager to showcase the operational efficiencies in availability of products, parts and services.” www.godwinpumps.com www.worldpumps.com
