Minutes of the Stated Meetirzg April 19, 1967 The Stated Meeting of The Franklin Institute was held at 8:15 P.M. in the Lecture Hall, preceded by a dinner in Franklin Hall at which IS Freshmen Members were honored. Wynn Laurence LePage, President, presided and called the meeting to order with approximately 350 members and guests present. Dr. LePagc stated that the minutes of the Stated Meeting of February 15, 1967 were published in the March issue of the Journal. There being no additions or corrections, these minutes stand approved as printed. The President announced that the minutes of the Stated Meeting of March 15, I967 will be published in the April issue of the Journal and will be presented for approval at the next Stated Meeting on May 17, 1967. Dr. LePage then introduced the speaker of the evening, Dr. C. O’D. Iselin, Professor of Physical Oceanography at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Henry Bigelow Oceanographer at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, who delivered an extremely interesting lecture entitled, “Potential Marine Resources.” Dr. Isclin’s talk, illustrated with slides, was enthusiastically received by his audience and drew many questions from them upon its conclusion. After expressing warm thanks to Dr. Iselin for his stimulating talk, on behalf of The Institute and those present, Dr. LePage adjourned the meeting at 9:40 P.M. PETERGEYPISN Secyetarv
