Mr. Heckscher called the meeting to order with approximately 220 members and guests present. Mr. Heckscher stated that the minutes of the Stated Meeting of March 21, 1962 were published in the April issue of the JOURNAL. There being no corrections or additions, the minutes were approved as published. Mr. Heckscher announced this meeting marked the Fourth Charles S. Redding Lecture, established by the Leeds & Northrup Company in 1955 to honor Charles S. Redding, Chairman of their Board at the time of his death in 1959, and a former President of The Franklin Institute. Mr. Heckscher then introduced the speaker of the evening, Mr. Arthur F.
