Lectures and discussions i:n English will cover the following topics : 1) Structural organization of DNA in genes. 2) RNA biosynthesis and control including splicing, capping and polyadenylation. 3) Biosynthesis of proteins and its control, including posttranslational modification, the Signal Hypothesis, mitochondrial and membrane protein synthesis. 4) Role of phosphorylation in viral transformation, action of hormones, and contractility. The school will be suitable for predoctoral students and for postdoctoral workers in related fields. The applicants will be informed by May 20, 1981, whether they have been accepted. A deposit of US $ 50 will then be required. Participants will in general have to pay for their demi-pension accommodation (an extra $ 1 5 0 ) and their travel expenses. A limited number of fellowships towards the cost of travel and accommodation will be awarded to participants with no other means of support. Accommodation will be arranged by the organizers.
