New European headquarters for Tsurumi Japanese pump manufacturer Tsurumi has relocated its European headquarters to a larger facility in Düsseldorf, Germany.

€30 million in Europe. The Japanese company has a further storage depot in Antwerp, Belgium.

With the move, Tsurumi has more than doubled its supply depot in Düsseldorf. There are now two large concourses with four heavy goods vehicle ramps. The workshop has also been extended to facilitate shorter throughput times. There is also a test tank for pumps of up to 22 kW motor power.

“We are pleased with the opportunities this site offers to us,” said Daniel Weippert, together with Tomoaki Hasegawa, the company’s managing director. “Not only will our dealers and partners benefit from this, but also our customers, who we instruct here free of charge.”

KSB inaugurates service centre in Abu Dhabi The KSB Group has officially opened a new service centre in Abu Dhabi. KSB Service LLC’s 3000 sq m workshop can accommodate five cranes capable of lifting weights of up to 40 tonnes. State-ofthe-art machine tools are available for machining components and there is also a 600 sq m office space.

The new service centre currently employs 54 people who repair KSB products as well as non-KSB brands.

Customers are also offered a range of spare parts and services, with special emphasis on the SES System Efficiency Service which is used to establish the energy consumption of large, powerful pumps and optimise them in line with current operating conditions. KSB Service LLC also focuses on reverse engineering and on providing technical training for customers and employees. The company is a joint venture of KSB AG and the Al Masaood Group. www.ksb.com

Prof Dr hc Viktor Dulger ProMinent Group founder and chairman Prof Dr hc Viktor Dulger has died at the age of 80. Prof Dulger developed the first electronic solenoid metering pump, the “ProMinent electronic” in 1968. The pump went on to give its name to the ProMinent group of companies. Today, ProMinent has 2500 employees based at 12 production sites and 55 sales and service organisations worldwide. Social responsibility was always extremely important to Prof Dulger and his family. For decades the family has supported social establishments and institutions working in technology and science, as well as groups and charitable projects such as the German Centre for Music Therapy Research (known since 1997 as the Viktor Dulger Institute), Heidelberg University, and a number of associations such as the Heidelberger Hauspflegeverein (local home care association) and sports clubs. Every year the Viktor-und-Sigrid-DulgerFoundation awards prizes for the best dissertation in the field of environmental technology, and for outstanding work by early career researchers or the best graduates.

Prof Dulger was made an honorary professor of Heidelberg University of Applied Sciences, and was presented with the Richard Benz Medal by the City of Heidelberg for services to the arts and sciences.
