Canadian and other International Active members may also choose to transfer from Active membership in the AAE to Associate membership. By doing so, they retain all the rights and privileges of membership other than those to nominate, vote, or hold elective office. They also relieve themselves of any obligation to support those AAE programs sustained by either dues or assessments. In transferring to Associate status, international members relinquish political rights in the AAE but maintain political rights in IFEA. Because all future Active members of the American Association of Endodontists must meet existing requirements for the limitation of practice to endodontics, and all dentists in the limited practice of endodontics are required to seek Active membership, those Active members who are not in limited practice can choose to change their membership status from Active to Asssociate. For each and every one of you the choices to make are there, and they are yours to make. Choose wisely and accept gracefully the responsibility for the consequences of your having made that choice.
