IVth NATIONAL SEMINAR ON CRYSTAL GROWTH Mysore, India, 14—16 August 1989

The IVth National Seminar on Crystal Growth (NSCG-4) will be held at Mysore, India, from 14 to 16 August 1989. The scope of the Seminar will be similar to that of any International Seminar or Conference on Crystal Growth, i.e. progress in science and technology of crystal growth from electronic materials to hiocrystals. The topics to be included are crystal growth by various techniques, theory of crystal growth, characterization of crystals, biocrystals, and crystal growth and materials processing in space. The main idea behind organizing NSCG-4 just before ICCG-9 is to provide an opportunity to the young crystal growers in India to interact with the Western crystal growers en route to Japan to participate in ICCG-9. They can have a stopover in India and participate in NSCG-4 without incurring extra expenditure. The organizers of NSCG-4 are likely to extend the local hospitality to most of the Western participants. There will be

a good number of social events and activities for the participants and their spouses. Mysore is one of the most famous tourist centres in India, known for its Brindavan Gardens, Royal Palace, Birds’ Sanctuary, Chamundi Hills, Jaganmohana Art Gallery, Bandipur and Nagarhole Forests, etc. The weather in Mysore during August will be very pleasant. The Mysore University is one of the oldest universities in the country. Some Companies, particularly from France, have expressed their willingness to have an exhibilion of their products.
