NOTE BY THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF There has recently been a substantial increase in the number of papers accepted for publication in Microelectronics and Reliability--in fact, over 100 papers in the first six months of this year. This is welcomed by both the Editors and the Publisher, but as each paper is taken in turn for processing, there will be an inevitable delay in publication of some of the authors' papers.

The purpose of this Note is to apologize in advance if authors experience a delay in excess of normal. It is hoped that usual publishing times will soon be resumed.
