The book review by D. Jurafsky in Artificial Intelligence 38 (3) contained a misprint. The title "Understanding Natural Language by J. Allen" should have read "Natural Language Understanding by J. Allen." Terry Winograd reminds me that the other title belongs to his 1972 book. He says further that there is an interesting difference in semantics in the two titles, even though they contain the same three words. Unfortunately, the understanding or at least the noticing escaped this editor.
