1. Membership qualifications

In September, 1969 the American Academy of Child Psychiatry changed its by-laws so that membership is now open to all qualified Child Psychiatrists and trainees in approved Child Psychiatry Clinics upon application. Application forms and a statement of requirements for membership may be obtained by writing to: Helen R. Beiser, M.D. Chairman, Membership Credentials Committee 180 North Michigan Avenue Chicago, Illinois 60601 Societies or groups may send for as many applications as they require.

2. Committee on Memorials and Awards The Committee on Memorials and Awards of the American Academy of Child Psychiatry wishes to remind the directors of all approved training programs in Child Psychiatry of the existence of the J. Franklin Robinson Memorial Award. This award is open to young child psychiatrists who submit to the Committee a paper on some aspect of child psychiatry work. The work on this paper should stars during his two years of child psychiatry training and must be completed and submitted to the Committee on Memorials and Awards within three years of the completion of his training in child psychiatry. The deadline for submission of manuscripts is December 31 of each year. The Committee will then review the manuscripts. If 1

any manuscript is deemed suitable for an award, the writer will be notified and invited to attend the fall meeting of the Academy. His expenses will be paid to this meeting. He will receive an Awards Certificate and an honorarium of $50. The decision of the Committee is final and the awards may not be given annually if the manuscripts submitted are not of appropriate caliber, or if the memorial funds are not adequate for that year.

3. Call for Papers-17th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Child Psychiatry The Program Committee of the American Academy of Child Psychiatry invites submission of abstracts of papers for presentation at the annual meeting, October 15·18, Brown Palace Hotel, Denver, Colorado. Papers on any aspect of child and adolescent psychiatry will be considered. Abstracts of from 500 to 1,000 words should be submitted by February 15, 1970 in 11 copies. Clinical case vignettes or brief communications will be considered for presentation of 10 to 15 minutes. Clinical approaches to poverty families and their children. Mental health legislation. Draft laws and the adolescents. Teacher education and consultation.
