Blowing agent masterbatches disperse faster Schering in the UK has introduced a range of blowing agent masterbatches under the Genitron tradename which are claimed to disperse faster than equivalent powders on existing processing equipment. The company says the ten compounds do not corrode moulds and show no signs of plate-outs. All the materials operate at between 150” and 280°C in a range of thermoplastics including polyolefins and styrenics. reduced. A series of trials by Schering has shown that production output can be increased by between 10 % and 35 %. At the heart of the additive lies 7.5% of a controlled mixture of dimethylbenzylidene sorbitol isomers in a propylene homopoiymer carrier.
