Observation on Efficacy of Chest Physiotherapy for the Postoperative Sputum Excretion in Lung Transplantation Patients Zeyu Qin ACNP* Hongjing Lin; and Xueli Zhang The First Hospital of the Jilin University, Changchun, China PURPOSE: To investigate the clinical effect of the chest physiotherapy for the postoperative sputum excretion in lung transplantation patients METHODS: Chest physiotherapy including deep breath, postural drainage, positive expiratory pressure, FET active cycle of breathing techniques, mechanical absorbing performed and system condition of eight lung transplantation patients after operation. The factors considered included the effect of expectoration, the improvement difference of PaO2, PaCO2, SaO2 by blood gas analysis; after three days treatment of sputum is easy to produce, double lung auscultation without obvious rale, breath sounds normal, cough by themselves. RESULTS: After chest physiotherapy, the improvement difference of PaO2, PaCO2 and SaO2 were significant higher than before (P<0.05); after three days, 7 cases of lung transplantation patients in which 8 cases of patients with chest radiograph improved markedly, double lung auscultation without obvious rale, patients can cough by themselves, lung signs good. Due to economic reasons, one patients give up treatment, the patient died. CONCLUSIONS: The chest physiotherapy which can clear sputum more effectively, improve blood oxygen partial pressure and lung expansion. It can reduce the chance of pulmonary infection and atelectasis. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS: Improve the quality of a lung transplant survival DISCLOSURE: The following authors have nothing to disclose: Zeyu Qin, Hongjing Lin, Xueli Zhang No Product/Research Disclosure Information DOI:
