LG, Hitachi form water treatment joint venture LG Electronics Inc and Hitachi Plant Technologies Ltd are to set up a joint venture water treatment business. LG-Hitachi Water Solutions Co Ltd will initially focus on municipal water supply systems, municipal sewage treatment systems, industrial water supply systems, industrial wastewater treatment systems

and the reuse and recycling of wastewater.

Technologies will hold the remaining 49%.

The new company is scheduled to begin operations this October and will be based in Seoul, South Korea.

LG will appoint the CEO of the new company while Hitachi Plant Technologies will name the chief operating officer.

LG will have a 51% equity stake in LG-Hitachi Water Solutions, and Hitachi Plant
