Remanufacturing multiplies pump life
Pump remanufacturing from Waukesha Cherry-Burrell enables users of the company’s rotary positive displacement pumps to get three factory warranted lives from the same pump. The program is especially beneficial for pumps moving highly corrosive and / or abrasive slurries. The remanufacturing program involves replacing or remachining all critical wearing parts of the pump. The pump body, cover and gear case are completely remanufactured. Other parts, including shafts, bearings, gears and oil/grease seals are replaced. Rotors are manufactured to standard oversize tolerances to match the remachined body and produce like-new clearances for the pump. Each remanufactured Waukesha pump is given a new serial number and after thorough performance tests, is backed with a new factory warranty. A pump exchange program is also available to minimise downtime. Contact: Wuakesha CherryBurrell, 611 Sugar Creek Road, Delavan, WI 53115, USA. Turbo drag for corrosive gas processes
Pfeiffer Vacuum’s 400M turbo drag pump is the latest addition to its magnetic bearing
High performance 400M Turbo Drag Pumps from Pfeiffer Vacuum.
series. All M series pumps 400M,lOOOMand 16OOM-are optimised for use with corrosive gas processes in the semiconductor industry as well as thin film and accelerator technology. Integral non-contact, wear-free magnetic bearings eliminate the need for lubrication and maintenance which means lower costs and longer uptime. The combination of classic turbomolecular pump and Holweck principles ensures that the pumps attain high gas throughputs and still operate at fore-vacuum pressures of up to 15 mbar, so that small inexpensive backing pumps can be used. A special coating, gas purge, and temperature management system protects the pumps from corrosives and condensables. The system registers the slightest change in pressure and maintains the necessary temperature level to match the particular reaction product (up to max. 100’ C). Safe and continuous throughput of aggressive gases reaction and products is assured. Plastic pumps join the resistance movement
Serfilco is bringing a range of polypropylene plastic pumps to the electroplating, metal finishing and printed circuit industries, to guarantee a high degree of corrosion resistance to all but the most arduous chemical applications. The Series PC end suction centrifugal pump can handle duties up to 700 l/min (40 m3/b) and 20 m head. The highest flow rates are achieved by the W Flanged version. The Series V self-prime centrifugal pumps can handle duties up to 350 l/min (20 m3 /h) and 15 m head. The re-prime capability, once the priming chamber has been charged, is up to 4 m suction lift. Serfilco says the pump is protected from ingress of solid debris with a removable basket strainer. It features an open non-clogging impeller which further reduces maintenance. Both pump series are suitable for low cost general pumping duties, transferring and recirculating of especially waste treatment and effluent applications. The Chinese year of the impeller
Europe in At PowerGen Frankfort last June, KSB demonstrated a true eye-catcher. On display was a 1.5 ton impeller for a main cooling water pump intended for the cooling system of the new Wu Jing Power Station, with two 600 MW units to be built in Shanghai (China). Multi-ply curved impeller vanes can cope with minimum as well as maximum discharge heads
