to the raw materials trend, the company says. Polynt Composites will continue to commit to limit the impact of rising costs and short raw materials availability upon product pricing and supply.

Lloyd’s Register approval for NTPT prepreg North Thin Ply Technology (NTPT) says that its ThinPreg 736LT prepreg system has now been approved by Lloyd’s Register. NTPT’s composite technology is suitable for the marine market and this latest certification confirms the company’s continued commitment to development in this sector, the company says.

The prepreg system has been formulated to offer long out life (up to 8 weeks at 18– 22 8C) and has improved mechanical performance. The system can be used in the production of large structures and can be cured at temperatures as low as 80 8C. ThinPreg 736LT UD prepregs can be supplied in a full range of weights from 30 gsm

Magnum Venus Products builds new manufacturing plant Magnum Venus Products (MVP), a manufacturer of composite application equipment, plans to expand its operations and build a new US$12 million facility that will create approximately 70 jobs over the next five years. Currently, MVP operates a headquarters in Knoxville and a 75,000 ft2 manufacturing plant in Kent, Washington, USA that employs approximately 100 people. The Kent manufacturing operation will continue to operate after the expansion in Knoxville. Construction of the new US$12 million facility will take place in two separate phases. Phase I will be completed next year and is approximately 40,000 ft2. Phase II will provide an additional 40,000 ft2 to the facility.

Currently, MVP operates a 75,000 ft2 manufacturing plant in Kent, Washington, USA that employs approximately 100 people. 69
