During spinning the fibre is doubled in bundles and a non-aqueous heat-resistant doubling treatment oil is added either during or after the doubling step. The oil is selected from alkyiphenyipolysiloxane containing 5--80% mole of phenyl group and dimethylpolysiloxane containing antioxidant.
