KT offers f l o w m e t e r s w i t h balls currently on trial in steel plants in Germany where aggressive, contaminated mineral oils are running through them.
KT Hydraulics (KTH), design and manufacture of complex hydraulic systems specialist, has launched three new products in its range of stainless steel flowmeters with ball bearings. KTH already offers five different capacities of meters in stainless steel and these are all fitted with carbide plain bearings. Two of the new meters, the Series 6 VC 0.025 and VC 0.2 are fitted with ball bearings and offer a measuring accuracy of +/-0.3% with an operating pressure of up to 400 bar. The third new product, the Series 8 VC 0.025, is fitted

peristaltic pump finds many applications Peristaltic pump manufacturer, Watson-Marlow Bredel, has launched its Chem-Sure tubing pump. Developed in conjunction with W. L. Gore & Associates, the new Chem-sure tube is designed to handle a range of aggressive chemicals such as inorganic acids and organic solvents, and is claimed to have more than 50 times the lifetime of any other fluoroelastomer tube.
The MBS 3250 can be used in all types of hydraulic applications and has the ability to work in oil temperatures exceeding 85°C without compromising reliability or accuracy. Upon start-up recalibration is unnecessary even after prolonged use. The heavy-duty series is protected against moisture invasion, a potential problem due to the temperatures and pressures exerted through normal operation, by the use of elastic silicone potting compounds, providing an ingress protection of up to IP67/69K. The electrical connector ends of the fully welded transmitters also

Although aimed at the pharmaceutical, speciality chemical and high throughput synthesis segments industries, the manufactures claim that it has already also been used to solve many other 'difficult' fluid handling applications across a number of industries in extensive trials prior to its commercial launch. Construction of the new tube is in the form of a layered composite, which in the case of Chem-Sure is of expanded PTFE and high grade fluoroelastomer. The pump is free from plasticisers and other processing aids that are often found in competitive products, and as such it is one of the cleanest tubes available. It also has the benefits of peristaltic tube pumps with smooth flow, accuracy, zero fluid contamination, zero pump contamination, self priming, dry running and automatic check valve action, for a new range of chemically aggressive pumped products, with a new level of reliability and durability. Chem-Sure tube elements are available to fit Watson-Marlow Bredel 300, 400 500, 600 and 700 series pumps, providing flow rates of between 0.2 ml/min to 1,100 l/hr.
