MATERIAL & METHODS: Retrospective analysis of patients with TCC between 2003 and 2015 in North Wales Hospital. 593 patients were diagnosed with TCC (448 Male = 76%, Mean Age = 72.1 years; range = 50-89). RESULTS: Histology showed G1 (N = 287, 48%), G2 (N = 183, 24%), and G3 (N = 123, 21%); NonInvasive (CIS/PTA/PT1, N = 451, 76%), and Invasive (PT2, N = 142, 24%). Neither histological grading, staging, nor recurrence rate were significant across age groups respectively (p = 0.63, p = 0.39, p = 0.35).Forty five percent (N = 87) of patients died in the group with recurrences; this was only 38% (N = 152) in those without recurrences. In those who had recurrences, we did not see any change in mortality rate across the different age groups (p = 0.71). However, in patients without recurrences, we saw a marginal increase in the mortality in over 60’s compared to the 50-59 group ([p = 0.06], 50-59 (N = 5, 17%), 60-69 (N = 42, 36%), 70-79 (N = 69, 43%), 80-89 (N = 36, 40%).

CONCLUSIONS: Our study confirms that there is no statistically significant difference in the histological grading, staging and recurrence rate across age groups (50-89). Mortality rates did not differ across the age groups with TCC recurrences, but did differ in those without recurrences.
