Report on Conference Growing Evidence of Link between Benzene and Child Leukaemia
British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (Athens) This was reported on by Dr Simon Wolff, a Senior Lecturer in Toxicology at London's University College Hospital. He told delegates that his research team was drawing closer to the point where assessment of the risk of developing leukaemia could be made by measurement of environmental exposure to benzene. The Athens seminar's general focus was on urban air quality and fuel composition. Papers on fuels, traffic pollution and their impact on public health and the environment were presented by specialists from Greece, Italy, France and Belgium.
