THE third Conference of the Group on Automatic Programming of Medium Power Computers (G.A.M. 6. ) and the first Conference of the Group on Algorithmic Languages for the Analysis of Economic Information (GAYaPEI) where held from 19 to 24 October 1964, in Warsaw. Representatives of Bulgaria, Hungary, German Democratic Republic, Poland, Rumania, U.S.S.R. and Czechoslovakia took part in the Conferences. The following were adopted at the Conference: the formation of the of the input and output procedures ALGAYSlanguage, and the solutions and concrete presentation of the ALGAMSlanguage using RFT telegraphic apparatus. The ALGAMSlanguage being (with an accuracy of up to standard procedures and functions) a subset of the ALGOL-60 language. is very similar to the language of SUBSET-ALGOL.The publication of the ALGAESlanguage is being prepared. At the GATaPEI Conference various opinions on the ALGOL-60 and COBOL61 languages were discussed as a possible basis for developing a language for the analysis of economic information. It is planned to discuss in detail an algorithmic language for economic problems (project of the USSR Academy of Sciences) and a language based on COBOL(project of the Polish Academy of Sciences) at the next Conference of GAYaPEI in March, 1965.
