Residents and Fellows in Radiology Annual Memorial Award Competition: $1,000 Honorarium A Memorial Award Medal and Certificate, along with a $1,000 honorarium in honor of deceased Association of University Radiologists (AUR) members, are awarded annually to the radiology resident or first-year fellow w h o submits the best original paper on any aspect of radiology. The resident or fellow may be the sole author or may work in conjunction with other residents, fellows, or faculty. In the latter case, the resident or fellow must fully qualify as the senior author of the paper. For manuscripts to be considered for the 1997 competition, they must be received by D e c e m b e r 16, 1996. All m a n u s c r i p t s s u b m i t t e d w i l l be c o n S i d e r e d for p r e s e n t a t i o n at t h e 1997 AUR a n n u a l m e e t i n g i n Dallas, TX, a n d w i l l a u t o m a t i c a l l y be r e v i e w e d for p u b l i c a t i o n i n Academic Radiology. The original paper should not exceed 6,000 words. Illustrations and tables should be kept within reasonable bounds. T h e authors' n a m e s m u s t n o t a p p e a r o n m a n u s c r i p t pages, but t h e y s h o u l d a p p e a r o n a separate c o v e r s h e e t w i t h t h e authors' "institutional affiliations a n d a t e l e p h o n e a n d f a x n u m b e r for t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g author. Otherwise, the manuscripts should conform in all respects to the Instructions to Contributors found in each issue of Academic
Radiology. Applicants must submit three copies of their completed AUR meeting abstracts, manuscripts, and original illustrations before the deadline of December 16, 1996 to Secretary, Association of University Radiologists, 1891 Preston White Dr., Reston, VA 22091. The winning essayist will be asked to make a 20-rain presentation of his or her paper at the 1997 AUR annual meeting. Manuscripts submitted for the Annual Memorial Award Medal competition cannot be simultaneously under consideration for publication and/or prize award by another group, cannot be scheduled for presentation before the AUR annual meeting, and must be a first-time submission. The winning manuscript will be submitted by the AUR to the Editorial Board of Academic Radiology for publication. A copyright release suitable for Academic Radiology should accompany the manuscript (see the Instructions to Contributors in this issue of the journal). Also note that the submission of a paper for the Annual Memorial Award Medal competition requires the submission of an abstract of the same paper for presentation at the AUR meeting. Papers submitted without an abstract will be returned to the author.
