Erratum

Retraction to “Asymptotic behavior of the Navier–Stokes flow in a general 2D domain” [Appl. Math. Lett. 18 (2005) 1170–1176] Yinnian He Faculty of Science, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi, 710049, PR China Received 22 November 2005; accepted 22 November 2005

I wish to withdraw the paper referenced above. The principal problem with it was that passing from estimates (20) to (21) in the paper is incorrect, and therefore those estimates are not valid. Consequently, Theorem 1.1 was not proven and thus the problem is still open. The second author’s sole contribution was to show that w belongs to V , which is in the paragraph between (15) and (16) in the paper. In conclusion, I wish to express my apologies to Applied Mathematics Letters and to its readers for this error, and to thank those members of the Editorial Board who brought it to my attention.
