Kyocera announces joint venture with Turkish company ˘lu Endu ¨ stri has been selling Bilginog cutting tools, measuring equipment and foundry materials since 1973 and has worked with Kyocera for 20 years. It is headquartered in Izmir and has sales offices in Istanbul and Bursa. A new office is being set up in Istanbul, which will also house the joint venture in April 2015.

Sandvik secures major mining order in South Africa Sandvik Mining has been awarded a major materials handling contract in South Africa. The value of the contract exceeds 600 million SEK and was booked in the second quarter of 2015. It will be executed and
contribute to Sandvik Mining’s business for the period of the years 2015 until 2017. The project includes engineering, supply and installation of two bucket-wheel

RTI to supply titanium structural parts for Airbus A350-1000 RTI International Metals has been selected to provide finished titanium structural parts by Airbus for its new A350-1000 aircraft program. The award from Airbus is to supply two final-machined structural titanium fuselage parts for the Airbus A350-1000 aircraft model.
Under the award, work to be performed by RTI includes providing titanium mill products, as well as extruding, forming, final machining and managing external suppliers. ‘This award is representative of the vertically-integrated, value-added business opportunities available to RTI as a direct

Precision Castparts acquires supplier of ceramic composites Precision Castparts has agreed to acquire Composites Horizons Inc (CHI) from American Industrial Partners. CHI is a supplier of high temperature carbon and ceramic composite components, including ceramic matrix composites (CMC), for use in next-generation aerospace engines. The company makes specialized components with exceptional strength and high-temperature tolerance, with the aim
to allow aircraft engines to operate with higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions. It supplies parts for the A320neo, 737 MAX, 777X, 787, and A350 XWB. ‘Driven by their temperature and weight capabilities, the demand for composite and CMC components in aircraft engines is expected to expand over the next decade,’ said Mark Donegan, chairman and CEO. ‘With capability across multiple classes of

The joint venture will be established in Istanbul along with a logistics center, while a technical center will also be established in 2016 to strengthen technical support for Turkish customers. The sales target for the middle term is approximately s10 million.
