Bonding filter end caps Permabond, UK, says that its latest range of single and two part structural adhesives can be used for bonding filter end caps that are exposed to continuous operating temperatures of 200°C. ESP4116 is a rapid cure, high strength, single part epoxy that can be used in food and pharmaceutical applications, such as where filter end caps will be repeatedly sterilised. E3152 is a two-part epoxy that is said to perform well in high temperatures and resist cracking over a wide temperature range. With low shrinkage on curing, the adhesive is suitable for use on large parts.
Fast flow filtration Amersham Pharmacia Biotech (APBiotech), which is headquartered Sweden, has launched three high capacity Benzamidine Sepharose 4 Fast Flow packages for the removal and purification of serine proteases. HiTrap TM Benzamidine FF columns are supplied in readyto-use 1 ml and 5 ml columns, and 25 ml laboratory packages. Operation is via a syringe, pump or liquid chromatography. The colums are based on highly crossed-linked 4% agarose, which is said to produce high flow rates without losing binding capacity

The filter plates incorporate a glass fibre support to enhance flow rate and a ready-to-use filtration system• Available in a 96-well plate standard format, product samples can be simultaneously filtered. The wells are individually sealed and a drainage spout directs samples into the collection plate wells; thereby reducing the likelihood of crosscontamination with other products. The filter plates are made from white or clear polystyrene
