NAFIPS '92: 'Commercialization through Fuzzification" This conference will be held December 14-17, 1992 at the Melia Hotel, Paseo de la Marina sur Marina Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is sponsored by NAFIPS, in cooperation with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Instituto Tecnologico de Morelia, Indian Society for Fuzzy Mathematics and Information Processing (ISFUMIP), Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA), Japan Society for Fuzzy Theory and Systems, and Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation (MCC). Fuzzy set theory has led to a large number of diverse

applications. Recently, interesting applications have been developed which involve the integration of fuzzy systems with adaptive processes such as neural networks and genetic algorithms. NAFIPS '92 will be directed toward the advancement, commercialization, and engineering development of these technologies. The conference will consist of both plenary sessions and contributory sessions. The plenary sessions will be addressed by leading experts. For contributory sessions, full papers are being solicited. Example topics include, but are not limited to the following: • Biomedical and Biochemical Issues • Business and Decision Making • Commercial Products and Tools • Computer Systems and Information Processing • Control Systems • Decision Analysis • Foundations and Mathematical Issues • Genetic Algorithms • Hardware • Image Processing and Vision • Neural Networks • Optimization • Path Planning • Pattern Recognition • Robotics A full paper shall not exceed 10 pages of single spaced text, with figures and tables included. Four copies of the paper are required by May 1, 1992. The papers will be reviewed by experts in their respective fields. Authors will be informed by the review committee as to whether the paper will be accepted without revision, accepted with revision, accepted into a poster session, or not accepted. The reviewer's evaluation will be mailed to the author by August 1, 1992. Final version of the paper must be submitted by October 1, 1992 in camera-ready form on 8 1/2" by 11" white paper with 1" margins on all four sides. They should be prepared by typewriter or letter-quality printer, in Times or Roman font, 10 points or larger, and printed on one side of the paper only. Papers not adhering to these guidelines will be returned. Deadlines: Submission: May 1, 1992. Acknowledgment of receipt: May 15, 1992. Notification of review decision: August 1, 1992. Receipt of final paper: October 1, 1992. All correspondence should be conducted through Ms. Carla Armstrong Software Technology Branch/PT4 N A S A - Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center Houston, TX 77058, USA Tel: (713) 483-9071 Fax: (713) 438-5200 Email:[email protected] In addition to the full paper, a cover letter must also include the following information: Full Title of Paper. Corresponding Author: name, author's affiliation, mailing address, telephone, and fax numbers. Technical
