Nouve//es de 17ndustrie Air cooled refrigerant condensers
York International to double northern operation
A new range of air cooled refrigerant condensers have been launched by the Water Saver Systems Division of Stadco Limited, UK. The condensers are constructed from functionally compatible and well proven components housed in a robust galvanized steel casing, and they are well equipped for a long operating life in external environments. Two main model ranges are offered, the 1200 and 1300, in which the latter incorporates large diameter slow running fans for quiet operation. With twelve models in the 1200 range and seven in the 1300 range, specific cooling capacities for most commercial or industrial applications can be catered for. Each model can be supplied for use with any of the Freon refrigerants or with ammonia R717. The condensers are designed with low power fan units and off-cycling motors to minimize running costs, and only a few moving parts are used in order to keep maintenance to a very low level.
A new 14 000 ft 2 office and warehouse complex is now under construction for York International, UK, at the Western Access Industrial Estate, Greater Manchester, UK, and should be ready for occupation in November 1986. This move reflects the expansion of the company by 300°0 since 1981 and is aimed at facilitating further expansion and improving customer services. The new plant will enable: an onsite product customizing service to tailor equipment to meet precise project requirements; an on-site compressor rebuild and refurbishment area with full test facilities; off the shelf stocks of unitary and packaged chiller products; and a spare parts trade counter service. York International, Unit 5, Piccadilly Trading Estate, Great Ancoats, M1 2NP, UK.
Model 1202 twin fan air cooled refrigerant condenser The air cooled refrigerant condensers are factory assembled and tested, and to ensure they arrive on site in a ready to use condition the condensers are factory cleaned and vacuum dried at high temperature whilst the coils are charged with dry nitrogen and sealed. For the more unusual applications, optional extras including very low noise level fans for installation in residential locations, multi or split circuits and variable speed motors, are available. Single-package cooling unit Dissolved oxygen meter An environmentally protected dissolved oxygen meter for use in hazardous environments has been introduced by Jenway Limited, UK. Designated model 9090, this new meter is totally enclosed in a waterproof and chemically resistant polycarbonate case. All input and output connections are taken through compression glands, thus the instrument is completely waterproof to IP 54 standards. Access to the setting-up controls is made via a hinged, clear front panel. Model 9090 is capable of measuring dissolved oxygen in either % or mg 1-1 with ranges 0-200~o and 0-19.9 mg 1-1 . Accuracy is stated as + 2 °/o of full scale, within 10° of calibration temperature and resolution is 1.0~o or 0.1mg1-1.
Automatic temperature compensation over the range 0-40°C is standard, and the instrument is supplied complete with a dissolved oxygen sensor. The sensor has screwon, pre-tensioned membranes, for repeatability of results, and a dual temperature compensation system for membrane permeability and oxygen solubility. Four optional outputs may be provided by the model 9090: a linearized voltage output at 1 mV per digit; and three linearized current outp~ts at 0-1.0mA, 0-10.0mA and 4~20.0 mA. The instrument may be powered from a.c. mains supplies at either 110 V or 230 V, and measures 225 × 220 × 125 mm. Jenway Limited, Gransmore Green, Felsted, Great Dunmow, Essex CM6 3LB, UK.
Two new sizes of 50CD/CH singlepackage cooling units have been introduced by Carrier Distribution Limited, UK. Previously, the 50CD for roof curb applications, and the 50CH for horizontal airflow applications was only offered in one size, 008, with a nominal cooling capacity of 24.9 kW. This gives more design flexibility, making the 50CD/CH units ideal for applications in small commercial buildings: such as food stores, schools, small businesses, shopping centres and office buildings. The 50CD units provide efficient and economic performance using a downflow air delivery design. An indoor air fan discharges supply air directly down into ductwork. Since static pressure loss is reduced, more of the fan static pressure is available, thus increasing unit efficiency. The 50CH units, with horizontal airflow, can be placed on slabs, piers or unit supports, or on roofs, when roof curbs or downflow cannot be used. The units can also be connected to existing horizontal ductwork or plenum. Carrier Distribution Limited, Carrier House, The Crescent, Leatherhead, Surrey, UK.
Heating pump range extended In response to market demand, Grundfos Pumps is extending its current 21-strong UMT/UPT heating circulator range with a further nine pump models.
The U M T / U P T range of directcoupled in-line heating circulators combines the design features of Grundfos' commercial glandless heating pumps with those of its CR vertical multi-stage in-line pumps Six models in the U M T ' U P T 40 range have single or twin head configurations for a single or three phase power supply. Other twin head versions also introduced are the U M T D 100/30 and 100//60, and the U P T D 100/120. All the twin head pumps have a built-in non-return valve in the discharge port to prevent reverse circulation in the idle standby unit. UMT(D)/UPT(D) 40 models are supplied complete with 1.5in BSP counter flanges, whilst U M T D / U P T D 100 models have 4in BSP counter flanges. Among the features of the UMT, U P T range are in-line ports for easy pipeline mounting, and the use of stainless steel components for pump shaft and impellers for greater resistance to corrosion. With its wtde temperature range ( - 1 5 to + 12ffC), flow rates from 2 to 26dm 3s-1 and suitability for frictional resistances up to 1 2 0 k N m ,, the range is ideal for L T H W and M T H W heating systems up to 6 bar pressure, or air conditioning plants. collection at selected intervals. Data can be stored in the memory and output to a printer. The standard built-in memory allows storage of 23 values and is optionally expandable by RAM to 500 values: programmable tune intervals are 10 and 30s, 1.5, 15 and 30min and 1 and 2 h. Two versions of the terminal are available, one for type K thermocouple probes measuring from - 200 to +1370~C, and one for Ptl00 platmum resistance probes measuring between - 250 and +850'C. Each version has two measurement ranges with automatic switch-over for optimum resolution on the LCD four-digit display: up to + 200'C giving a resolution of 0.1'C: and above 4 2 0 0 C with 1 (' resolution. The accuracy is _+0.1 ",, m all cases with a maximum linearization error of between 0.05 and 0.2"C, depending upon the version and range. Automatic offset correction assists long term stability. Touch-buttons initiate on/off, print (and disptay), clear (screen,' memory), C ' F (display/print), and select for surface or immersion {probe). Function touch-buttons select four temperature measurements present value, trend, minimum and maximum during the cycle. A "memory' button instigates data storage and 'recall' button restores erased data to memory. A 'time' button initiates automatic operation and selects the programming interval, while another marked timer displays the time elapsed since the last automatic storage and printout. Arrowheads on the display keep track of the various operating modes. A small Epson P40 dot matrix printer (optionalt and temperature sensing probe are supplied and carried with the terminal in a briefcase. Independently powered by rechargeable batteries, these two units comprise a completely selfcontained, relatively low-cost system for solving numerous temperature measurement and analysis problems throughout general industry and in research laboratories.
