Welcome to the 2010 SIR Annual Scientific Meeting 2010 SIR–IR Innovation Dear Colleagues, The SIR Annual Scientific Meeting always offers the opportunity to meet with colleagues from around the world, to renew acquaintances, make friends, exchange information about practices, compare notes and get ideas. We are all familiar with the tremendous advances in patient care and quality of life that we have, as a group, developed. However, at 2010 SIR, you will learn the true extent of the impact of SIR’s members on innovations in the field. The SIR Annual Scientific Meeting Committee is pleased to present the program for the 35th Annual Scientific Meeting in this JVIR Supplement.
2010 JVIR Supplement The 2010 JVIR Supplement provides a preview and roadmap to comprehensive educational offerings at the meeting. Schedules and session details for plenary sessions, categorical courses and symposia constitute the early pages of this supplement and serve as a print program for individual meeting presentations. Faculty syllabus contributions for these programs can be found at www.SIRmeeting.org. As always, the educational opportunities at the meeting are many, and most often the hardest part is deciding which sessions to attend. This year’s meeting will focus on the latest technology, proven science and—above all— quality patient care, providing you not only with a vision of IR’s future, but the practical tools and techniques that you can use to improve your practice today. Enclosed you will also find the peer reviewed scientific oral and poster presentation abstracts. This year’s meeting includes 216 oral presentations and 136 posters. Posters for the meeting will be presented in a traditional paper-display format to encourage discussion among colleagues and interaction with the authors during the Poster Reception on Tuesday, March 16. Oral presentation sessions and times are also listed in the supplement. Please bring the printed supplement with you to Tampa, as this is your only copy. SIR will also once again offer a full complement of hands-on and didactic workshops. In addition to numerous new workshops, popular workshops have returned due to demand, and many have been refreshed and updated to enhance the educational experience. Workshop topics and coordinators are listed within these pages, however a complete daily schedule can also be found at www.SIRmeeting.org.
SIR Technical Exhibits The Technical Exhibit Hall will be open from Sunday to Wednesday. Attendees are encouraged to learn about new developments in technology by visiting the Technical Exhibit Hall as part of their educational experience at 2010 SIR. Lunch will be provided in the Exhibit Hall every day and refreshments will be available during the morning and noontime breaks. The Technical Exhibit area is an excellent meeting place and a great opportunity to introduce your IR team to new supplies and equipment for IR. Inside this supplement, please find a list of participating companies and booth numbers as of December 1, 2009. Remember, this is your only copy of the 2010 JVIR Supplement. Please bring it with you to the meeting. We look forward to seeing you in Tampa.
