New light duty water pump The new Robusta™ 1 is the latest addition to ABS’s range of light duty wastewater and drainage pumps, designed for applications such as emptying flooded cellars, draining pits, sumps and rainwater.
The pump has the ability to operate down to a level of 1 mm, ensuring almost total water removal on level surfaces. The maximum flow rate capability is 106 l/min (28 USgpm), at a head of 6 m (20 ft). Discharge volumes start at 3 l/min and go on up to over 100 l/min of discharge. The design includes an integrated checkvalve built into the discharge line to prevent backflow when the pump unit is switched off. The pump and motor section is ensconced in a pressure-tight encapsulated unit, with the motor housing constructed from a plastic corrosion resistant material.
The Robusta1 from ABS is designed for relatively simple drainage or wastewater duties.
Solids-handling capability is restricted to debris only 1 mm in diameter. The discharge connection is G1¼”. www.worldpumps.com - RES No.207
Sliding gate valve The newly developed GS control valve from Schubert & Salzer is available in sizes DN 15 to DN 200. Pressures up to PN 100 and medium temperature operations up to 550°C are permitted. The valve design involves few moving parts, a deliberate attempt by the manufacturer to achieve reliability and safety from both an operational and servicing point of view. A short face-to-face section should make the GS valve easy to locate between two flanges and assist the installation process. Any subsequent maintenance can be carried out by a single person without the need for complete disassembly of the valve. A regulator device is also employed in the design to try to reduce wear and tear on each individual unit. End-users will be able to assess the usefulness of this system by

monitoring the lifespan of their valve. According to the manufacturers, the GS valve is also resistant to cavitation, the phenomenon that occurs when static pressure falls below the boiling pressure of a flowing liquid. www.worldpumps.com - RES No.208
