Patent comprises reacting an aqueous salt of Fe, Si, an alkali metal and HzS04, with a tetraalkyl ammonium salt of formula R’,R”,,N+ X to form a gel (R’, R” are alkYl groups containing 2-4 C atoms, R’ may or may not be the same as R”, the values of x and y vary between 1 and 3 and may or may not be same, and X is Br- or OH-), heating the resulting gel, filtering, drying and calcining the resultant solid composite material and then exchanging with an ammonium salt. Application of the encilite catalyst to conversion of MeOH to light olefins, such as ethylene, propylene and butene, is indicated.

The title suspensions contain lo-45 wt.% zeolite having a composition: (Mz0),.Alz03~(Si02)y (M = monovalent cation; x = 0.8-1.6; y = 1.8-3) and contain 0.1-10 wt.% (based on total suspension weight) condensation products of hydroxynaphthalenes, phenols and HCOH that carry one or two sulphomethyl groups per condensation unit to become water soluble and are condensed in a alkaline medium. The condensation products act as dispersants and stabilizers for the suspensions.

In the manufacture of the title suspensions containing 5-45 wt.% zeolites having a composition: (M20)xAlz03~(SiOz)y (M = monovalent cation, x = 0.8-16, y = i .a3), the hydrothermal synthesis of a mixture of molar ratios Si02/A1203 = 1.2-6, NaPO/.SiOz = 0.7-2.8 and HzO/NazO = 20-50, is carried out in the presence of 0.1-10 wt.% (based on the total weight of the suspension) of a product obtained by the acid condensation of naphthalene sulphonic acids with HCOH. Stable, pumpable, suspensions are obtained.

The title faujasites, useful as petroleum-cracking catalysts, are manufactured by treating NaY faujasites with an aqueous solution containing both PO4 3- and NH4+ and then treating the resulting NH4Y faujasites containing 5 3% Na (as NazO) and 0.3-15% P (as Pz05) with steam.

A mixture of water glass, and an amine, Alz(SO&, and Hz0 is aged, reacted in a sealed reactor, cooled, filtered, washed to pH 8, dried, and sintered to give a zeolite having a composition: 0.9Mun0.Alz03.49-64SiOz.xHz0 (M = a n-valent cation; x = 9-30). The zeolite is useful as a catalyst for gasoline synthesis by dehydration of MeOH, conversion of LPG, or as the second-stage catalyst in a two-stage Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The zeolite is in the form of fine crystals and has good thermal stabiliw and water resistance and high catalytic selectivity.
