Finder Pompe invests in new pump test facility in Italy
F
inder Pompe, part of PSG®, a Dover company, has opened a new pump test facility at its headquarters in Merate, Italy. The new 1500 sq m building is six times larger than Finder’s previous test facility. This investment is driven by the growth in size and complexity of Finder’s pump models, along with expanding customer expectations on pump performance. Finder says that these stricter performance requirements demand more rigorous tests that verify a pump’s capacity, as well as its net positive suction head (NPSH) behaviour, vibration and noise levels, and overall operational efficiency. “As our product offering has become more expansive and our client base more diverse, we felt this was the perfect time to add this new pump-testing facility to the list of service offerings that we can provide for our channel partners,” said Luca Farris, general manager of Finder Pompe. “When providing products for use in very demanding fields like oil-and-gas production and power generation, it is imperative that our clients have access to the best, most reliable and, yes, most exhaustively tested pumping
equipment possible, and this new testing facility will help us satisfy those critical requirements.” The facility’s larger footprint makes it more suitable for testing pumps with higher capacities and at higher pressures. Three stiff platforms can accommodate horizontal pump and skid installations. These platforms allow for extremely precise vibration tests, while two independent areas with three tanks that are 13 metres deep are able to test vertical pumps with shaft lengths up to 12 metres. The facility also has a testing circuit for lube oil pumps and another dedicated to the testing of liquid ring vacuum pumps. This design enables up to four pumps to be tested at the same time. The testing bench features cranes that can lift pumps that weigh up to 20 tons. The facility is also capable of producing maximum electrical power of 4 MW. exas replacement pump parts companies Standard Industrial Manufacturing Partners LLC and DH Pump and Supply LLC have merged. Odessa, Texas-headquartered Standard, an investment of Hicks Equity Partner LLC (HEP), manufactures and distributes replacement parts for a range of pumps used in production and completion applications within the oil and gas industry. The company, which
was founded in 1979, has additional manufacturing in Granbury, Texas. A private equity fund managed by HEP, the Dallas-based private equity arm of the Thomas O Hicks family office, invested in Standard in 2016 alongside its former CEO Jack Sitton. HEP is now rolling 100% of its equity stake into the combined company. DH Pump, meanwhile, operates in a similar way to Standard but specialises in the Continued on page 2...

ylem Inc has announced a new US$800 million Senior Unsecured Revolving Credit Facility with a sustainability-linked pricing mechanism. The interest rate is index-linked to Xylem’s overall sustainability performance as rated by Sustainalytics. Improvements in Xylem’s sustainability performance will reduce interest rates under the facility. Xylem says that the deal is one of the first sustainable improvement loans in the US and the first in the general industrial sector. “We are excited to be the first water technology company in the US to secure a sustainability-improvement loan that rewards our continued efforts to integrate sustainability and social value creation across our operations, and helps advance our strategy and mission to solve global water challenges,” said Mark Rajkowski, senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of Xylem. “As part of our mission to solve water, Xylem provides technology solutions that help customers around the world drive water and energy efficiencies and reduce impact on their local ecosystems,” said Claudia Toussaint, senior vice president, general counsel & corporate secretary, and executive sponsor for ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) at Xylem. “We are also committed to reducing our own environmental footprint and helping communities in need become more water-secure.
