LOW PROFILE additives (LPAs) designed for composites are available from Synthomer Ltd. The company now offers a range of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) polymers suitable for sheet and bulk moulding compound (SMC and BMC), pultrusion and resin transfer moulding (RTM) processes. AOC delivers color technologies IN EFFORTS to improve performance, aesthetics and processability of cast polymer products AOC has created new Vicast® resin, Vibrin® gel-coat and Chroma-Tek® colorant products. Vicast A540-DHA-15 casting resin is said to offer the combination of improved green strength and reduced colour. It is said to allow a single resin to be used for both cultured marble and onyx end-products. The product can also be used in flat or contoured moulds to make small or large parts. Applications for Vicast A540DHA-15 include bath fixtures, shower pans and walls. Vibrin G425AA clear gelcoat is said to provide cure benefits for the cast polymer
manufacturer and outstanding resistance to moisture. It has a 100% NPG base for moisture resistance. A 48% styrene gelcoat, it is typically sprayapplied to the mould to provide a protective surface to cultured marble and onyx products. AOC expects this product to sell well to manufacturers of sinks, baths, shower components and other products exposed to water. Chroma-Tek CT-10866 pigment dispersion is a more affordable version of the popular white used for automatic casting equipment.
