Tenth International Conference on Photochemistry, The University of Crete, Id&on, Crete, Greece, September 6 - l&l981 The Conference will be held at Iraklion, Crete, Greece. The lectures and poster sessions will take place in the main assembly room of the Chamber of Commerce which offers excellent modem facilities for several hundred participants. The format of the Tenth International Conference on Photochemistry will be one which allows the widest possible scope for critical and constructive discussion, and for exchange of information, on the major aspects of photochemistry. Plenary sessions (40 min) wiIl be held every morning and most evenings, in which reviews of the status of particular areas of photochemistry and of new developments in theory and experimentation will be presented by leading scientists who are actively involved in research and intimately familiar with the subject areas. The remainder of the sessions will be devoted to discussion and poster presentations on the same topics. The posters will remain exposed for viewing and discussion throughout the day and evening, although the afternoons will be left free to allow delegates to savour the special atmosphere of Crete while discussing science. The Conference Sessions will be divided broadly into the following nine categories: Physical Photochemistry Organic Photochemistry Inorganic Photochemistry Photobiology Laser Photochemistry Atmospheric Photochemistry and Photochetiical Pollution Spectroscopy and Theoretical Aspects of Photochemistry Photochemical Kinetics Photochemical Aspects of Solar Energy Storage and Utilization The official language of the Conference will be English. Crete is an exceptionally beautiful island, with a vibrant culture and abounding in archaeological and historical sites. Accompanying persons will be offered a variety of tours which will enable them to sample this rich heritage.
