The 8th Trondheim Conference on CO2 Capture, Transport and Storage (TCCS-8) Conference web: http://www.sintef.no/projectweb/tccs-8/ The 8th "Trondheim Conference on CO2 Capture, Transport and Storage" was held in Trondheim, Norway on June 16 - 18, 2015. The conference was organized by BIGCCS – International CCS Research Centre under auspices of NTNU and SINTEF. The objective of the Conference was to bring forward, present and discuss work undertaken within R&D institutions, universities and in industry. The Conference focused on research and development regarding CO2 capture, transport and storage and included the following topics: ƒ Pre-combustion capture ƒ Post-combustion capture ƒ Oxy-fuel capture ƒ CCUS ƒ CCS in energy intensive industries ƒ CO2 negative solutions ƒ Transport ƒ Storage ƒ CO2 EOR ƒ International R&D activities incl. pilot and large scale activities ƒ Novel technologies ƒ Public acceptance and communication ƒ CCS whole system issues The bi-annual conference has since its start in 2003 grown to become one of the leading scientific CCS technology conferences, and represents an important meeting place for CCS experts from all over the world. This time 350 participants from 26 countries were offered a high quality technical program (see Conference website) consisting of 10 keynote lectures, 138 oral (in six parallel sessions) and 101 poster presentations. Participants to the conference with either oral or poster presentations were offered the possibility to submit peer-reviewed, scientific papers, which can be found in this volume of Energy Procedia. Staging a conference like the TCCS is a major undertaking, and many deserve appreciation for devotion of time and efforts. This applies especially to: the CLIMIT program, Gassnova and Statoil (all as sponsors), the Scientific Committee, the keynote lecturers, oral and poster presenters, session chairs, technical assistants, and the authors of the scientific papers. Finally, we would like to thank all participants for attending the conference. We hope to see you all back in Trondheim at the next TCCS Conference, which will be held in June 2017.
