OF DEFORMATION
ON ROCKS
A
third international conference on microstructures in rocks, “The Effect will be held at the Geological Institute of the of Deformation on Rocks”, University of Gijttingen (F.R.G.) from 9 to 11 April, 1980, organized by H.J. Behr, G.S. Lister, K. Weber and H.J. Zwart, under auspices of the I.U.G.S. Commission on Tectonics. There will be sessions on the following topics: 1. Methods of fabric analysis. 2. The development of cleavage. 3. Deformation and effects of deformation in silicate minerals and aggregates. 4. The deformation of carbonates. 5. The interaction of deformation and metamorphism. 6. Mylonites and mylonitization. The conference will be followed by an excursion to the Rhenic Slate belt on April 12-13. Registration
