THE RAMON GUITERAS AWARD* In 1963 Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals of St. Louis established an honorarium, to be known as the Ramon Guiteras Award, for presentation annually by the American Urological Association to one of its members who has made distinguished contributions to urology. Doctor Guiteras was one of the founders of the Association and its first president. Recipient of the 197:3 Ramon Guiteras Award is: Dr. Wm. THE FERDINAND C. VALENTINE AWARDt Dr. Ferdinand C. Valentine made a bequest to the New York Academy of Medicine to establish a fund, the income from which was to be used for periodic awards to individuals who have made distinguished contributions to urology. Doctor Valentine was one of the founders of the American Urological Association, its first secretary and its third president. Recipient of the 197:) Ferdinand C. THE HUGH HAMPTON YOUNG AWARD+ In 1969 Bristol Laboratories of Syracuse, New York established an honorarium to be known as the Hugh Hampton Young Award, for presentation annually by the American Urological Association to one of its members who has made outstanding contributions in the field of urinary tract infection. Doctor Young was president of the AUA during 1907-1908 and founded, in 1917, The Journal of Urology. which is the official publication of the Association. Recipient of the 197:3 Hugh Hampton Young Award is: Dr. John K.
