FOREWORD The Second International Journal Supplement This Second Supplement is dedicated to the sharing of information throughout the world of hand surgery and to those patients who suffer from the diseases and disorders of the hand and upper extremity. The First Supplement was pub­ lished in September 1983 as Part 2 of THE JouRNAL OF HAND SuRGERY. This issue is Part 2 of the November 1985 issue of THE JouRNAL, American Volume. It has been produced and funded under the aegis of the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand. It contains some of the material from the Second International Congress, selected committee reports, and articles. We thank THE JOURNAL OF HAND SURGERY, the editors, committees of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and The C. V. Mosby Company for their cooperation; the Federation and its Council for their support; the advertisers
