Conference Report The Sixth Summit of Photodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy, Beijing China The 6th National Summit of Photodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy for Dermatology organized by the Department of Dermatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of PLA General Hospital (also known as the 304 Military Hospital) was convened successfully in Beijing China between November 26 and November 27, 2016. The 304 Military Hospital has organized the summit and CME course for six years. There were more than 300 dermatologists and clinicians attended the summit this time, that sets a new record of the largest number of participants in PDT summit and CME course in China (Figs. 1 and 2. Similar to previous ones, this summit was also focused on the latest progress in photodiagnosis and PDT, new photodynamic technologies and importance of PDT in dermatology.

The two-day summit started with a keynote lecture on the latest progress in photodiagnosis and PDT, which was delivered by Professor Zheng Huang of University of Colorado Denver, USA. This was followed by invited speakers – Professors Xiuli Wang of Shanghai Dermatology Hospital, Heyi Zheng of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Ping Tu of Peking University First Hospital, Hongwei Wang of Huadong Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, Wenhui Lun of Beijing Ditan Hospital, andYuguang Yang, Hongxia Chen, Yunjie Zhang and Xianbiao Zou (Chair of the summit), of the First Affiliated Hospital of PLA General Hospital. The topics of their lectures covered the broad aspects of applications of topical PDT in various dermatological diseases – some have been added to the new national guidelines. The summit also include a demonstration and hand-on session to offer the attendants opportunities to see the PDT clinic setup and various topical PDT procedures. This summit was sponsored by Shanghai Fudanzhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical Co Ltd. This event indeed provided an ideal platform for the education and promotion of PDT technology in dermatology and beyond.
