T. P. H O A R P R I Z E THIS prize is awarded annually by the Institute to the author(s) of a paper of particular scientific or technological merit published in each volume of Corrosion Science, to c o m m e m o r a t e the outstanding contribution of the late T. P. H o a r to pure and applied corrosion science and his long association with the organization which is now called the Institute of Corrosion. The prize is sponsored jointly by the Institute and Pergamon Press and consists of a cash sum and a commemorative certificate. The 1989 prize has been awarded to Professor K. E. Heusler for his paper, 'The influence of electrolyte composition on the formation and dissolution of passivating films" [Corros. Sci. 29, 131 (1989)].
