HOAR PRIZE THIS prize is awarded annually by the Institution, to the author(s) of a paper of particular scientific or technological merit published in each volume of Corrosion Science, to commemorate the outstanding contribution of the late T. P. Hoar to pure and applied corrosion science and his long association with the Institution. The Prize is sponsored jointly by the Institution and Pergamon Press. The 1981 Prize has been awarded to J. R. Galvele, author of the paper entitled "Transport Processes in Passivity Breakdown--ll. Full Hydrolysis by the Metal Ions" p. 551, Volume 21, 1981. The 1982 Prize has been awarded to the C. P. Jensen, D. F. Mitchell and M. J. Graham, authors of the paper entitled "Influence of the Prior Oxide Film on the Growth and Structure of Oxides Formed on Fe-26Cr Alloys at 660°C '' p. 1125, Volume 22, 1982.
