Thermoplastic material for seals and bearings Arlon® 1000 from Greene, Tweed is a new material designed for diverse medical and biotechnology applications. The ductile polyetheretherketone thermoplastic material can be used in seals, bushings, bearings, SIP/CIP equipment, valves and pumpheads, and especially in liquid chromatography applications.
The material combines a number of mechanical, thermal, chemical and electrical properties. It has a tensile strength of 15,260psi and an elongation capacity of 6%. It offers high shear strength and some resistance to creep. With a crystalline melting point of 633°F, Arlon 1000 also exhibits some

Fluid Metering Inc (FMI) has launched a new range of temperature controlled pump heads for process dispensing and metering applications. The CSC-WT pump head provides temperature control for FMI pumps and will help to maintain consistent fluid temperatures in reactor feed, pilot plant, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, industrial, or process applications. The CSC-WT pump head accepts two standard 1/4" x 1" electric cartridge heaters and a thermocouple. Temperature control ranges up to a maximum of 350°F (180°C), depending upon various installation and specification factors. In addition, the CSC-WT pump head incorporates an isolation gland for application with air sensitive fluids, enhancing the versatility of the new offering.
