DEVELOPMENTS NEW EQUIPMENT, Titanium Anodizing System VulcaniumAnodizing Systems, a unit of Vulcanium Corp. Northbrook, 111. Vulcanium’s HiLode Anodizing System employs an adjustable titanium master frame and family of quick-connect titanium racks to achieve the closest possible parts spacing and optimize use of process tank space. The result is a substantially higher concentration of parts processed per load, which means fewer loads per job. Features include titanium-clad aluminum vertical splines for greater current-catrying capacity and better current distribution into each load, and a wide selection of quick-connect rack tip styles for virtually any interior or exterior racking requirement. Parts Washer Almco Inc. Albert Lea, Minn. Almco’s aqueous, computer-controlled parts-cleaning system combines rotary washing and drying machines with liquid filtration equipment. Parts travel on a 24-in.-wide roller conveyor where they rotate at variable speed. The parts then continue automatically on the conveyor to an RPD-24 heater/ dryer where all moisture is removed. Filtration of the cleaning fluid is provided by an Almco cyclonic system that removes particles down to 5 microns and tramp oils. When the solution is clean, it is returned to the system for reuse.

Electroplating Applications Printed Circuit Boards Baker Technology Santa Monica, Calif.
for
Baker’s Wave Switching Technology (WST) uses application-specific, preprogrammed complex pulse wave forms and duty cycles to readily and repeatably achieve faster deposition rates, improved plating distribution, and the enhanced physical properties that come from a more dense, finer grain deposit. A reduction in grain size can improve hardness, wear resistance, porosity, ductility, stress, adhesion, solderability, and conductivity. Circle

Gauge
The QuaNix 5500 is a thickness gauge that combines both a hand-held measurement device and a printer all in one. The gauge will measure coatings such as paint, powder, and plated deposits over ferrous substrates including steel and iron, as well as insulating coatings including paint, powder, or anodize over aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, or other nonferrous substrates. The QuaNix 5500 provides upper and lower tolerance settings, continuous readings that allow the user to scan a substrate, and calibration settings for special applications.
