F O C US ingredients and raw materials distributor Broste, thereby consolidating its position in Europe. The acquisition should increase Azelis sales to more than €820 M in 2005. Broste has sales of more than €120 M and employs 130 people. It will continue operating under its own name and will retain its management. Its range includes performance chemicals (for agriculture, horticulture, oleochemicals, detergents and cosmetics), speciality chemicals (polymers, additives and coatings), agrofoodstuffs ingredients and salt. Broste has subsidiaries in the Baltic States, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Sweden and the UK. This means that Azelis is represented in all European countries except Austria and Switzerland. Pure Bioscience makes accelerated shipments of Axen 30 antimicrobial to fill orders for use in the Gulf Coast region Pure Bioscience has received accelerated orders and has made shipments of its Axen 30 antimicrobial hard surface disinfectant to its distributor Clean Control Corp for distribution to the military for use in the US Gulf Coast region. The first of these accelerated shipments was made during the first week of Sep 2005. Clean Control Corp packages Axen 30 as Germ Control 24. Pure Bioscience’s patented, EPA registered antimicrobial, Axenohl, is a proprietary concentrate based on the water-soluble, electrolytically generated ionic silver molecule silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC) [Focus on Surfactants, Sep 2004]. Axen30 is the EPA-registered use-dilution of SDC for hard surface disinfection proven to kill bacteria, fungus and viruses as a least toxic yet more powerful alternative to traditional poisonous disinfectants. Bidco begins exporting to Rwanda, Congo Bidco Oil Refineries, a maker of protein concentrates, soaps, fats, vegetable oils and margarine, has begun full-scale production in Uganda after the completion of its $25 M facility in Masese, Jinja. The strategic location of the facility enables the company to export to Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The southern Sudan market is also being studied. Demand for edible oil is presently at 650,000 tonnes/day. The facility has three plants for producing edible oil, soap and plastic. The company has a workforce of 1200 on a permanent part-time basis.
