Concurrency management, which automatically restricts the simultaneous editing of the same spatial element by more than one user.
-
Maintenance of feature history, which provides the ability to record previous versions of the database and to reconstruct all or part of the historical database when needed.
-
Direct database browse interface, which allows the standard tools provided with ESRl’s GIS products to be used to display and to query data directly from ArcStorm.
-
The ArcStorm Application Programming interface will be available to developers who wish to incorporate GIS data access into other applications.
ArcScan: New Raster Data Conversion and Editing Tools Make GIS lmplementaion Easier than Ever Before This product is an extension to ARC/INFO and provides users with a suite of raster editing software tools that will allow them to import, correct, edit, vectorize, plot, and export scanned raster documents. capabilities include raster database construction, raster preprocessing and noise removal, integrated raster-vector editing, interactive raster-to-vector conversion, and raster display and plotting. These capabilities make ArcScan a strong alternative to traditional table digitizing. In many cases, ArcScan can produce higher quality data at a lower cost than conventional digitizing methods. Data can be exchanged to/from most popular spreadsheet file formats. PSI-Plot provides a powerful plot editor with drawing tool, object alignment, and legend generator that makers it easy to design and modify graphs. It offers many 2D and 30 plot types including curve (line) graphs, vector plot, surface (mesh) graphs, bar charts, box, hi-lo, step, smith chart, etc. Multiple coordinate systems, axes and plots can be placed in one page. PSI-Plot produces publicationquality graphics output to dot matrix printers, laser printers, plotters, and slide makers. It also produces colour EPS, CGM, DXF, TIFF, BMP, PCX, and HPGL files. PSI-Plot requires an IBM PC, XT, PS/2, or AT compatible computer with 640 K memory running under MS-DOS or PC-DOS version 3.0 or later, a hard disk drive with at least 3 MB free disk space, and a graphics display and adapter (Hercules, EGA, VGA, or better). There is a special intoductory price and also a competitive upgrade price to users who have any technical plotting package. For more information

Poly Software International PSI-Plot Version 2.0 PSI-Plot is the release of a major upgrade to the technical plotting and data processing program PSPlot. The new version has the Windows look and DOS speed. The enhanced template and batch mode processing, on-line help system and tutorials makes PSI-Plot the easiest program to learn. It has a comprehensive data sheet that performs complete statistical analysis (t-test, F-test, ANOVA, regression), data transfomation, digital signal pro-
UNISTAT for Windows is the first statistical package combining the ease of use and the versatility of the Windows environment with the full range of data handling, analysis and presentation graphics capabilities needed by today’s researchers and educationalists. It comes complete with a fully-featured spreadsheet custom-designed for statistical data handling - not just a spreadsheet-like data editor. Numeric, alphanumeric and missing data can be entered and edited as easily as in any commercial spreadsheet. In addition to the standard spreadsheet functions it has a number of functions which are specifically designed for scientific data handling, such as ranks, dummies, moving averages, standardise, stack, unstack, aggregate.

SOFTWARE NEWSLETTER
Loading, merging or saving of data files is possible in Lotus l-2-3 (including Release 3) Excel, dBase 2,3,4, DIF, Sylk, fixed (non delimited) and free format (by column and by row) free ascii formats. UNISTAT supports 19 continuous and discrete distributions. It reports most test statistics with their significance levels, and where relevant, with confidence intervals. It offers Parametric and Non Parametric tests, correlation coefficients, regression analysis, ANOVA and ANCOVA, Cluster Analysis, Discriminant Analysis, Multidimensional Scaling, Principal Component Analysis; Factor Analysis, and Canonical Correlation. UNISTAT Statistical Package was first released in 1984. Up to 32,600 x 32,600 matrices can be handled. All procedures work in double precision. The program will run on any PC that can run Windows in Standard or Enhanced mode. Although not required, a maths co-processor and 4MB memory are recommended. Hercules, EGA, VGA or higher resolution graphics adapter are supported. All output devices supported by Windows are supported at the highest resolution. For more information
information processing systems and their applica tions in the areas of statistics, finance and eco nomics. The focus will be on in-depth presentations of state-of-the-art methods and applications as well as on communicating current research topics. This workshop is intended for industrial and academic persons seeking new ways of comprehending the behaviour of dynamic systems. The PASE ‘93 workshop is concerned with but not restricted to the following topics: Artificial Neural Networks Dynamic and Chaotic Systems Fuzzy Logic Genetic Algorithms Stochastic Optimization Organizing
