The new plant will process 3 million tonnes of ore annually. The equipment will be delivered during the second quarter of 2017 to ensure the first pour of gold by the end of that year.

Amec Foster Wheeler awarded Sonatrach refinery contracts in Algeria

mec Foster Wheeler has won a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract from Sonatrach SPA for three new refineries located in Biskra, Tiaret and Hassi Messaoud, Algeria. The three refineries will each have an annual capacity of 5 million tons of Algerian crude oil and contain facilities for atmospheric distillation, Liquefied Petroleum Gas separation, hydrocrackers, desulphurisation, bitumen production, utilities, blending, effluents treatment, control room and laboratories. The Biskra site will include lubrication oil facilities. Amec Foster Wheeler will also support Sonatrach in the selection of technology licensors for all three refineries.

acobs Engineering Group Inc has received a contract for detailed engineering of facilities associated with the Tuxpan-Tula Pipeline Project in Mexico. TransCanada is the builder, owner and operator of the pipeline, which is supported by a 25-year natural gas transportation service contract with the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Mexico’s state-owned power company. Bonatti SpA is the prime contractor. As subcontractor for pipeline facilities, Jacobs is providing engineering, procurement and field engineering support for the installation of a compressor station, a meter station and associated pipeline appurtenances along the 155-mile, 36-inch pipeline.

mec Foster Wheeler is to design and supply a complete 50 MWe power island for Cleco Corp in Louisiana, USA. Under the contract, Amec Foster Wheeler will provide the power plant’s major equipment, including a steam turbine generator, a waste heat recovery steam generator, a condenser, a feedwater heater, a deaerator, pumps and a cooling tower. The power island will use an existing heat source to create power. The heat, provided to Cleco by a third-party supplier, is generated from the production of carbon black, used in items such as tyres and industrial rubber products. eolia’s Kruger Inc has been awarded a contract to supply a Hydrotech discfilter system for the City of Flowery Branch’s water pollution control plant (WPCP) in Georgia, USA. Kruger will provide a Hydrotech discfilter unit with controls system and backwash water pump station. The system is designed to treat secondary wastewater to reuse standards by filtering a peak flow of 2 MGD and provide effluent with TSS d 5 mg/L. The Flowery Branch WPCP is using this technology to add tertiary filtration for reuse as part of its overall treatment process capability. The Hydrotech discfilter is expected to be operational during the autumn of 2016.
