Versatile, automatic backflushing filter

Versatile, automatic backflush ing filter Mann+Hummel Holding GmbH, of Germany, has launched its economic Mann AutoFluid automatic filter. The backflushing filter is designed for processes such a s the filtration of paints, inks, coolants, industrial water, waste water, grease, wax, cleaning agents, oils and fuels. It removes particles in the range of 10100 ~m for volumetric flows of up to 50 mS/h, with water at 0.25 bar initial (tif[\'rcntial pressure and a viscosity up to 3000 mm)/s. According to the company, the system is easy to clean and its short cleaning pulses keep backflushing volumes and pressure decreases down. There are four filter chambers insidc the system, and a microcomputer control

monitors the pre-set differential pressure and controls filtration and backflushing. The system can be integrated into existing production lines, and all of the operating parameters can be individually set to operating conditions and requirements relating to concentration, type, form and density of dirt. Depending on the process, the system can be supplied in stainless steel or aluminium, with a variation available for use in explosive environments.
