Ziskind-5omerfcld Research A w a r d 1991, Prize Competition
Purpose The Society of Biological Psychiatry offers an annual award of $2,500 in either basic or clinical research for the purpose of stimulating investigations in biological psychiatry by senior investigators, who are members in good standing of the Society of Biological Psychiatry. This award is made possible by the Ziskind-Someffeld Research Foundation.

more than one investigator is listed as an author of the submitted work, the principal investigators (first and last authors) must be over the age of 35. The research will be judged in comparison with the work of other senior investigators. S ~ i a l consideration is given to the originality of the approach and independence of thought evident in the submission. The principal investigators must continue to be actively involved in the area of research described in the submission. The principal investigators must be members in good standing of the Society of Biological Psychiatry. The submission should be in the form of a manuscript that describes studies recently completed but not published or currently under consideration. The studies and the data must not have been published elsewhere. The Society's journal, Biological Psychiatry shall have first option to publish the winning paper. No changes in authorship are permitted. The winning paper is subject to the same editorial process as any paper accepted for publication in the Journal. The winning author will re,ceive the award and is invited to read their paper at the Annual Meeting of the Society in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, May 8-12, 1991. Submissions are welcomed from senior investigators who reside in any country.
Instructions 1. Please submit manuscripts (eight copies) following the instructions to authors of the Society's journal, Biological Psychiatry. 2. Manuscripts should be limited to 30 pages in length (excluding references). 3. A brief biographical sketch (eight copies) should be sent with the manuscript. 4.
