Changes in the Team of Editors for Chemical Geology

CLAUDE ALLE`GRE stepped down per January 2004 and CHRISTA GO¨PEL is taking on the Editorship After more than 18 years of Editorship, Claude Alle`gre stepped down from the Team of Editors for Chemical Geology per January 1st 2004. During his time as Editor, Claude has greatly contributed to the standards achieved by Chemical Geology today. After having assisted Claude for many years in his Editorship, Christa Go¨pel has now accepted the invitation to join the Team of Chemical Geology Editors, and to succeed Claude Alle`gre. On behalf of the Team of Editors, the Publisher would like to take this opportunity to thank Claude for his great contribution to Chemical Geology. At the same time we would like to welcome Christa and wish her every success in her new position. With Claude Alle`gre’s departure, the Paris Editorial Office will cease to exist. ERIC OELKERS stepped down per January 2004 and DAVID RICKARD is taking on the Editorship After three years of Editorship, Eric Oelkers stepped down from the Team of Editors for Chemical Geology per January 1st 2004. During his time as Editor, Eric has been very actively involved with the Journal, and has contributed significantly to the scientific standards achieved by Chemical Geology today. We thank Eric for all his contributions. We are delighted to announce that Professor David Rickard of Cardiff University has joined the Team of Chemical Geology Editors, succeeding Eric Oelkers. Professor Rickard is a geochemist with particular interests in the geochemistry of metals and sulfur. He has authored more than 100 publications in experimental geochemical kinetics and metallogenesis, and was Editor of Mineralium Deposita for 8 years (1992 – 1999). Professor Rickard is a Fellow of the Geological Society and the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy, and a chartered Engineer. On behalf of the Team of Editors, the Publisher would like to take this opportunity to welcome David and wish him every success in his new position.
