Chlorinated Phenoxy Acids and Their Dioxins. Edited by C. Ramel. Stockholm, National Research Foundation. Ecological Bulletin 27. 1978. Pp. 302. Price: Sw.Cr. 45. These two reports, one British, one Swedish, deal with the controversial topic of the safety of these herbicides and the danger from dioxin impurities. The British report considers that the dangers to man of proper use are very low. The Swedish comes to roughly the same conclusion, but stresses the need for continued study. K.M.
