entists have been licensed as specialists in prosthodontics by nine states. Specialty licenses are issued by the state dental boards of these states after special qualifying examinations are given as specified by their respective state dental practice acts. The standards, examinations, and qualifications required of specialists in the states which have specialty laws are controlled by the dental practice acts and by the state dental boards. Some of these dentists may be Diplomates of the American Boarcl of Prosthodontics and others are not. Consequently, some names that appear on this list may not appear in the list of Diplomates of the American Board of Prosthodontics, which is national in scope. The American Board of Prosthodontics operates under the rules set by the Council on Dental Education and by the American Dental Association. DENTISTS
